Third European Works Council

- dialogue on a European level

Capio and the labour unions representing the employees within the Group, have arranged the third European Works Council Meeting (EWC). The Capio European Works Council was established in 2006. Capio is the first and only health care company in Europe to hold these meetings.

The purpose of the Capio European Works Council is to provide information and consultation on a European level on issues like: the organisational structure, economic and financial situation, i e the overall business development and performance of the company.

- These meetings offer an opportunity for our employees in different countries to meet representatives of the management of the Capio Group for an exchange of information and a constructive dialogue, says Kevin Thompson, Swedish Municipal workers union and Employee Chairperson. – At the same time giving the employee’s themselves the chance to exchange information and knowledge about Capio.

By increasing the understanding of the possibilities and challenges of our company the labour representatives can contribute to the realisation of our vision, says Gunnar Németh, Managing Director and Chief Operational Officer of the Capio Group.

The delegates also visited the emergency hospital Capio S:t Göran´s where the successful work with the LEAN-concept was demonstrated.

The meeting took place on 29-30 October 2008 in Stockholm. The employee’s representatives attending the meeting were Bengt Sparrelid, Kevin Thompson, Åsa Jungwallius, Sweden, Johannes Heuer, Gertrude Weinert, Germany, Mirentxu Forton, Olivier Herrou, Hélène Robin, France and Celia Ortega, Isabel Zapata, Pedro Montero, Spain. Capio was represented by Gunnar Németh, Managing Director and COO of Capio, Marc Attia, Head of Business Area Capio Healthcare France, Jürgen Schmidt,  Financial Director of Capio Healthcare Germany. Other representatives of Capio were Saila Horttanainen, Manager of Communications and Monica Angervall, Executive Assistant.
