2011
Capio divests its Spanish operations to the private equity fund CVC Capital Partners in Spain.

Capio wins tender for Lundby Hospital in Sweden and is commissioned to run the hospital for an additional six years.

2008
Capio is divided in two independent companies - Capio and Unilabs. Capio Diagnostics - with laboratory and radiology services - becomes Unilabs. Capio continues as a healthcare company. 

2007
Capio secures a new contract in Bayonne, France.

In Germany, Capio acquires Vena Fachkliniken, with operations in Germany and Switzerland.

Capio reaches an agreement with Unilabs, a well-known laboratory services company with operations in several European countries.

Capio Healthcare UK is divested.

2006
In November, Capio is acquired by funds advised by Apax Partners Worldwide, Nordic Capital Fund VI and Apax France. Capio is delisted from the Stockholm Stock Exchange on 17 November.

With the acquisition of the German healthcare group Deutsche Klinik Gmbh, Capio gains access to the single largest healthcare market in Europe. Deutsche Klinik is a private healthcare group owning five hospitals and operating seven facilities under management contracts throughout Germany.

Nine clinics with surgical, medical and obstetrical activities are acquired in France.

2005
Acquisition of Grupo Sanitario IDC, Spain's largest private medical-care company.

2004
Divestment of elderly care operations.

Capio secures the largest public sector care contract ever awarded by the NHS in the UK.

Capio Eye London Clinic inaugurated.

Divestment of Previa, Occupational health services.

2003
Acquisition of The Eye Academy (London) Ltd.

Acquisition of the largest private hospital in France, Clinique des Cèdres, in Toulouse.

2002
Capio enters the French healthcare market with the acquisition of the second largest private healthcare provider (16 clinics).

Acquisition of Scandinavian Heart Center (cardiovascular surgery), Gothenburg, Sweden.

2001
The fourth largest acute hospital group in the UK, Community Hospitals Group, and the Ophthalmology company Medocular are acquired. 

2000
Several add-on acquisitions are completed. The third largest occupational health company in UK is acquired and renamed Previa UK. In October, Capio is listed on the Swedish Stock Exchange.  

1999
Establishment in Europe continued through the acquisition of the Florence Nightingale Hospitals – psychiatric hospitals – in the UK and Switzerland. At the end of the year, the St.Göran emergency hospital in Sweden is acquired.

1998
Several radiology operations are established and acquired in Norway.

1997
Through the acquisition of the Norwegian Volvat Group, the base for the establishment of operations outside  Sweden is formed. 

1996
Elderly Care Services established through acquisitions in Sweden, and subsequently, Norway.

1995
Occupational Healthcare company Previa acquired. In the years ahead, the company makes investments and acquisitions, including Läkargruppen Sweden. 

1994
Capio formed through the acquisition of Nova Medical, a provider of laboratory services.
In the same year, Lundby Hospital is also acquired.
